Midstream: logistics that move hydrogen
Liquid hydrogen only becomes market-ready through an integrated logistics chain. Hemtron takes care of the entire midstream - from liquefaction and storage to transport and distribution.

Liquid hydrogen requires an integrated logistics chain: only through liquefaction, storage, transport, and regasification does it become a market-ready energy carrier.
Hemtron covers the entire midstream area: from liquefaction and storage, through transport in standardized containers, to customer-specific distribution. We thereby build the bridge between production and application - reliable, safe, and immediately scalable.
Hydrogen transport today is mostly carried out in dedicated transport vessels (typically in gaseous form).
In future, gaseous hydrogen is also expected to be moved through a pipeline network that still needs to be built.
While the European hydrogen core network is expected only from 2035 onwards, the transport of liquid hydrogen in purpose-built containers is a timely alternative for rapid market ramp-up.
The advantage of liquid hydrogen in logistics is the lower transport and storage cost per unit of energy thanks to its higher energy density.

Container-based logistics
Standard transport routes (road, rail, water)
Storage of GH2 and LH2
Distribution to customer needs
Optimized cost structure & flexibility
To make liquid hydrogen usable for existing industrial, energetic, and infrastructural applications, reconversion at the point of use is often required.
For this final stage of the value chain, Hemtron offers highly efficient regasification and pressure-management solutions that minimize energy losses, ensure the highest operational safety, and enable seamless integration into existing systems.
The reconverted hydrogen can be used directly in industrial processes, applied for energy supply, or fed into existing networks.
Benefits:
With deep know-how in cryogenic technology, hydrogen logistics, and infrastructure integration, Hemtron actively shapes the European midstream.
Our focus is creating safe, flexible, and immediately operational solutions for the transport, storage, and distribution of liquid hydrogen — from the first to the last kilometer.
